Behind the Scenes at Lambert- Who We Are

September, 2008
Greetings all,

Please let me take this opportunity to welcome you to the first edition of the Lambert E-Newsletter.  The world of jewelry and stone cutting is constantly changing and Lambert is the company poised to best keep you informed of all the new developments.  Combined we are a wealth of information based upon over 35 years experience and it is time we show you what makes Lambert your number one source for gemstones, custom jewelry and stone cutting.

Today, stones, pearls and jewelry are cut and sold by the tons and mass market jewelry has limited or no human contact.  Large volume purchases obtain the best pricing while sacrificing quality.  At Lambert, our gemologists and staff review hundreds of colored stones before choosing only a handful.  Lambert chooses pearls by color, shape and luster all reviewed by our certified gemologists strand by strand.  Our diamonds are chosen by selection, one by one, and not bought by the lot.   We genuinely care about the stones we cut, select and turn into jewelry.  The difference is Lambert, where value is not only quality and price but the total customer experience.

What continues to set Lambert apart from everyone else in our industry is our knowledge and devotion to our clients needs.  We learn both through our success and our experience and our highly trained staff have worked with many of you throughout the years to realize your projects and designs.  This incredibly talented team continues to grow as does our appreciation for fine stones and the work of the talented artisans of Thailand.

Welcome to E-letter volume 1-1 and please meet the people behind the scenes at Lambert.  These are the people who make it all happen.
Best Regards,
Eric Forbes

Principal Owner

Gem/Jewelry Term of the Month
Fossicker: This term is derived from the term fossick (UK origin) which means to ferret out or to rummage. Australian gem hunters have adopted this term. In Australia, one who hunts for gems is called "a fossicker" and the activity of gem hunting is called "fossicking." This is a major Australian hobby as well as vocation as the Australian island continent is a rich mother lode of a large variety of gems and decorative stones. These include sapphire, spinel, zircon, peridot, garnets, topaz, smoky quartz, amethyst, citrine, rose quartz, labradorite, opal, fire opal, chrysoprase and several other gem species.
